    Decent Radio For The Weekend Warrior. Overall this is a decent radio. I bought this VHF to wear on my PFD when kayak fishing larger lakes/coastal waters and to stay in contact with buddies during river float trips. It’s held up great so far. Just make sure you clean off the salt spray after use like you should be doing with all of your gear!The battery life is great. I always scan several channels and usually transmit on the lowest power setting. After two full days of use the battery indicator just dropped two bars…

    not for ocean use For my canoe club, we purchased 6 of these allegedly waterproof radios in February of 2017. Didn’t see any actual use until March 15 of 2017. As of todays date, July 30, 2017, 4 of the 6 are non functional, return window has expired. Biggest culprit was the on/off/volume knob was extremely susceptible to corrosion from incidental salt water contact. Corrodes so much that knob sticks and it becomes impossible to move.Perhaps if you were using these on a fresh water lake, they…
